Young’s Mechanical Solutions is a commercial HVAC and plumbing contractor proudly serving clients within an approximate one-hour radius of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and licensed in both Virginia and West Virginia.

Founded in 2019 by Jake and Darla Young, our company was built on a passion for serving the commercial building industry with high-quality mechanical services at a fair market cost.

Our construction team includes sheet metal crews, mechanical piping crews, plumbing crews, and controls/start-up technicians, with ductwork fabrication performed in-house by experienced craftsmen. We pride ourselves on teamwork, customer service, and delivering creative, cost-effective solutions on every project.

We are currently seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic Foreman to lead our sheet metal installation team in the field.

Position Summary

As a Sheet Metal Mechanic Foreman, you will oversee and coordinate the installation of commercial HVAC duct systems and related sheet metal components. You will lead crews on job sites, ensure projects stay on schedule, maintain quality standards, and serve as the primary point of contact between field teams and project management.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled sheet metal mechanic who is ready to take the next step into leadership — someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, and takes pride in running organized, efficient job sites.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and lead sheet metal installation crews on commercial projects

  • Coordinate daily tasks and manpower to meet project schedules

  • Interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittals

  • Oversee installation of ductwork and related HVAC components

  • Ensure work meets industry codes, project requirements, and company standards

  • Maintain jobsite safety in accordance with OSHA regulations

  • Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades

  • Troubleshoot field challenges and provide practical solutions

  • Verify materials, manage inventory on site, and coordinate deliveries

  • Train and mentor junior mechanics and apprentices

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of commercial sheet metal experience preferred

  • Proven leadership experience as a foreman or lead mechanic

  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and specifications

  • Solid understanding of duct fabrication and installation practices

  • Ability to manage crews and maintain productivity on schedule-driven projects

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights or in tight spaces as required

  • Thorough understanding of OSHA and jobsite safety standards

Position Summary
As a Commercial Plumbing Technician, you’ll install, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing systems in a variety of commercial settings—including educational facilities, office buildings, healthcare facilities, and more. You’ll work with our construction and service teams to ensure all work is performed safely, accurately, and up to code.

What You’ll Do

  • Install water lines, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial buildings
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and plumbing codes
  • Test and inspect plumbing systems for proper operation
  • Repair or replace damaged pipes, valves, and fixtures
  • Collaborate with project managers and other trades on job sites

  • 3+ years of commercial plumbing experience preferred

Our team continues to grow, and we’re looking for an experienced Mechanical/Plumbing Project Manager to join our construction division.

Position Summary

The Mechanical/Plumbing Project Manager oversees the planning, coordination, budgeting, and execution of commercial mechanical and plumbing projects. This role involves leading field teams, working directly with general contractors and clients, ensuring code compliance, and delivering projects on time and on budget. Successful candidates are strong communicators, organized leaders, and problem-solvers with a solid technical background in HVAC, mechanical piping, and/or commercial plumbing systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage mechanical and plumbing projects from pre-construction through closeout

  • Develop project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and material procurement lists

  • Coordinate daily with field supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, and in-house teams

  • Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, and specifications for accuracy and compliance

  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans to maintain schedule and budget targets

  • Conduct jobsite visits to verify installation quality and ensure crews have required resources

  • Track job costs, approve purchases, and maintain accurate project documentation

  • Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and company standards

  • Lead progress meetings with clients, GCs, and internal teams

  • Manage change orders, project communication, and final punch-list closeout

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of commercial mechanical or plumbing construction experience

  • 2+ years of supervision or project management preferred

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical piping, and/or plumbing installations

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proficiency with project management tools, documentation, and basic computer skills

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Mechanical or plumbing license preferred, but not required

Position Summary
As a Commercial HVAC Technician, you’ll be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, customer-focused, and experienced in servicing various HVAC equipment brands. This role involves working closely with our service team to ensure timely, cost-effective, and professional repairs across our client base.

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment, including RTUs, VRF/VRV systems, boilers, chillers, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system tune-ups
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Accurately complete service tickets and reports using mobile apps and software
  • Communicate effectively with customers and teammates
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow company protocols
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed

  • Universal EPA Certification required
